3CAD Next allows flooring configuration and customization. It is equally possible to configure a new floor and to customize one already in place, regardless of the room type (standard or custom). Flooring items in 3CAD Next are:
- Standard floors
- Footboards
To insert the flooring in a room, do the following:
- Open the room in 3CAD Next planner.
- Select the 2D view.
Click on the floating button on the left-hand side of the window to open the Library.
Click on the 'Select walls' icon between Library and Variants.
- Select the Flooring tab and click on the element (Flooring, or Footboard) to insert.
Start drawing the floor perimeter by clicking on the initial point, dragging the cursor, and clicking again at the end of each flooring side until the whole perimeter is drawn. For a more simplified drawing, wall corners are magnetic to the flooring anchor points (represented by a circle with four internal arrows). When the flooring is ready press
Esc
.
- Click on Projects in the top bar, and then Save Project to save the composition.
Note: To view the flooring in 3D, users can freely move between 2D and 3D visualizations by clicking on 2D and 3D respectively on the menu bar. Flooring configuration is only possible in 2D visualization, except for the materials setting.
At this stage, users can further edit and customize the flooring according to their needs, applying the changes illustrated in the following paragraphs.
Adjust the flooring shape
- Click on the flooring.
Click on one of the anchor points (circle with four internal arrows) located at the corners of the flooring.
- Drag it while holding down.
- Release it when in the correct position.
For a more tailored shape, add more anchor points by clicking on one or more circles with an internal +, positioned on the side of the flooring's perimeter.
The circle with an internal + will turn into an anchor point (circle with four arrows), and it will be possible to use it as an anchor. At each side of the anchor point, two new circles with an internal + appear, to be used for a more refined shaping.
- Click on Projects in the top bar, and then Save Project to save the composition.
Note: Setting the flooring's area and shape is independent of setting the ceiling or walls. All these elements need to be adjusted separately.
