The View Maker is a 3CAD mode where users can retrieve the list of all generated views and technical drawings. They are generated both as screenshots and compiling the viewmaker.json file.
To access the View Maker do the following:
-
In the 3CAD Next planner, click on Tools in the top bar, then Cad Mode, and finally View Maker. You are now in the View Maker mode, and the first generated view is visualized in the planner.
Note: The View Maker can be accessed from the 3D view only.
-
Click on the Configure button on the left-hand side of the window to open the List of all generated views.
At the top of the list, you find all the screenshots taken using the Save View functionality (see the Tools and settings: the 3CAD Next top bar article, Central section: Tools), if any exist.
Each screenshot is automatically assigned a unique name according to the format "Custom View #" and it cannot be renamed by the user. Screenshots can be deleted by the user by clicking on the basket button of the specific view.
The views defined by compiling the viewmaker.json file are listed under the screenshots in the same list if any exist. They cannot be either renamed or deleted from this section, but changes need to be made by recompiling the viewmaker.json file in the catalog.
These views may differ in terms of:-
spatial dimensions, 2D or 3D,
-
perspective, like front, rear, left, right,
-
information provided: while some views may be very simple, others may be enriched by information like dimension and annotation lines, information on the material, representation of joints, cutouts, appliance images, etc. Most of the additions need to be defined in the viewmaker.json file, but some can be done also manually in the View Maker mode (see the Editing the views with the View Maker toolbar article).
-
spatial dimensions, 2D or 3D,
-
You can visualize each view of the list by clicking on it. You can recognize the selected view by the open eye button visible in line with the view's name. In the planner, it is possible to zoom in and out on views and technical drawings. On the latter, it is possible to pan by holding down the mouse wheel.
-
Click on Full View in the Cad Mode submenu to exit the View Maker and switch to the configuration mode.
Note: By clicking on the 2D-3D switch, you exit the View Maker mode and move to the 2D configuration mode.
