Objects can be positioned in the planner using different methods, depending on the level of precision and the working view. You can move objects freely by dragging them, adjust their placement with directional arrows, or enter exact values for precise positioning. Additional tools such as Snap Point and Magic links can be used to fine-tune the result.
Positioning methods
Drag and drop
Select the object, click and hold, then drag it to the desired position. This method works in 2D, 3D, and Elevation mode. In 2D you can also rotate the object by clicking and holding on the circular arrow. Vertical movements are not supported with this method.
Directional arrows
In 3D view only, select the object to display the directional arrows. Use them to move the object along the X, Y, and Z axes or to rotate it. This method gives you direct control over horizontal and vertical adjustments in 3D space.

Update position dialog
Select the object and press the space bar to open the Update position dialog. Enter precise X, Y, and Z coordinates in millimeters. The Y axis controls vertical placement, while the X and Z axes define horizontal placement. This method can be used in 2D, 3D and Elevation mode. In 2D it is best suited for horizontal adjustments, while in 3D it is recommended for vertical placement.
When positioning inside a room, the dialog also provides distance values (D1, D2, D3, D4) that indicate the distance between the object and the closest wall or element on each side. In detail:
D1
Distance from the origin (zero of your element) to the left edge of the room, if there are no other elements; otherwise, indicate the distance to the closest element to its left.
D2
Distance from the back of your element to the first element behind it; if there are no elements, indicate the distance to the back wall of the room.
D3
Distance from the right side of your element to the first element to its right; if there is nothing, indicate the distance to the right wall of the room.

Distance from the front of your element to the front edge of the room or to the element in front of it, if any.
If the element is in contact with the wall behind it, only the references D1 and D3 will be displayed.
Tips for accurate placement
Use drag and drop for quick adjustments and visual alignment.
Use directional arrows when working in 3D to control movement along specific axes.
Use the update position dialog for precise placement, especially when exact distances or alignments are required.
Keep Snap Point and Magic links enabled for more accurate results. They are enabled by default but can be turned off if finer control is needed.
