With the 3CAD Next Rendering package, when you have designed your project in the 3CAD Next planner, you can create rendered images of it.
3CAD Next offers an integrated rendering tool that allows you to create appealing and realistic images of your design to present to your customers. The tool has been developed to be quick and easy to use; despite this, it can be personalized with lighting settings, and resolution options from Preview to 4K resolution.
When you are ready to render an image, take the following steps:
-
Preliminary actions
-
Open your design in 3CAD Next, in 3D mode.
Note: The design must be saved to activate the Render tool. -
Position and zoom your design as you would like it to appear in your rendered image.
-
Click on Render on the left bar (menu bar).
-
Click on the Configure button. The Render menu opens.
-
-
Choose image lighting
In the Render menu, you can choose among two image lighting systems:-
Sunlight, that can be set in the first tab of the Render menu
-
HDR, that can be set in the second tab of the Render menu (preferred option)
Lighting systems influence the scene brightness, shadows, and reflections, and can dramatically change the mood of the design. It is usually preferable to use sunlight and HDR lighting alternatively, nevertheless, they can be combined if needed. For detailed guidance on lighting systems, see the article Rendering lighting options.

-
Choose render resolution and activate denoiser
-
Set the image resolution in the section Settings - Resolutions Render of the second tab. You can choose among 5 alternative resolutions:
- Preview (500p)
- Standard (720p)
- HD (1280p)
- Full HD (1920p)
-
4K (3840p)
While each resolution is characterized by a standard image's length (measured in pixels - see the formats list above), the final image height is automatically adjusted to each scene to limit empty image borders. Factors that influence the final image height are: framing, window dimensions, and screen size.
-
Activate or deactivate the denoiser. Image noise is a side effect of digital image creation. It consists of random variations in color or brightness of digital image pixels, particularly visible in dark areas or shadows. The denoiser's purpose is to limit this unwanted effect and it is activated by default in the 3CAD render menu.
-
-
Name the render
In the second tab of the render menu, you need to assign a name to the image in the section Create and display render. -
Start rendering
Now that all the options are set, you are ready to click Send Render to start creating the render. -
Preview and download
In the third tab of the Render menu, renders are stored automatically.-
Wait until the Complete checkmark appears under your rendered image.
-
Check the render preview.
Note: This preview is available to all render resolutions. -
Download the rendered image.
In the same tab, it is also possible to access previously rendered images and delete them. Rendered images can be searched for, by project or user.
Toggle Yes to the question Search on renders project? to view all the renders of this project (id est, associated with the same Project ID), or No, to view all the renders made by the current user (on this and other projects).
