3CAD Next supports a Multilevel BOM that helps you view and understand complex product structures more easily. Instead of a flat list, items are organized into hierarchical levels that reflect how the product is built.
This structure is defined in the catalog and automatically displayed during configuration.
What the Multilevel BOM looks like
The Multilevel BOM groups related items together using parent–child relationships.
This means:
main component (parent) appear at the top level
subcomponent (child) is nested underneath
deeper levels (grandchild) represent more detailed parts of the product
You access the BOM by clicking on the BOM button in the Offer view.
The Bill of Materials (BOM) is presented with multiple expandable levels, allowing users to view the hierarchical structure of components in detail. Users have the option to expand all levels simultaneously by toggling the Expand all levels feature on, which reveals every component and subcomponent at once for a comprehensive overview.
Alternatively, users can choose to expand individual levels selectively by clicking on the + symbol located next to each specific component. This approach provides a more focused view, allowing users to explore particular parts of the BOM without overwhelming the display with all details at once.

The hierarchy is read-only for designers and ensures a consistent structure across projects.
This structure helps you:
navigate and read complex products
quickly understand how a product is composed
identify which components belong together
-
work more efficiently with large or complex configurations
The Multilevel BOM does not change how you configure products, but it improves visibility and clarity while you work.
