3CAD Next offers the possibility to enrich the room by inserting and customizing utilities such as:
- Electrical sockets
- Water outlets
- Gas outlets
- Pipes
- Exhaust vents
- Radiators
- Air conditioning
- Boiler
- Ancillary facilities
Note: These elements are representations and will not be considered as rule constraints for the configuration (configured items will pass through utilities if not manually moved).
To add utilities to a wall, do the following:
- Open the room in 3CAD Next planner.
- Select the 2D view.
- Select the wall to add the element to by clicking on it.
Click on the floating button on the left-hand side of the window to open the Library.
Click on the 'Select walls' icon between Library and Variants.
- Select the Electrical & Plumbing System tab and click on the utility type (Water outlet, Radiator, Pipes, etc.) you want to insert. The element appears on the wall.
- Place the element in the correct position by dragging it while holding down.
- Click on Projects in the top bar, and then Save Project to save the composition.
Note: You can freely move between 2D and 3D visualizations by clicking on 2D and 3D respectively on the menu bar. Room utilities' configuration is only possible in 2D visualization.
To further edit and customize utilities, users can now apply the changes illustrated in the following paragraphs.
Reposition the utility item to a specific location
Select the utility item by clicking on it or clicking on the wall segment adjacent to the item (depending on which utility you are selecting).
- Drag it while holding down to position it correctly.
- Click on Projects in the top bar, and then Save Project to save the composition.
Change the item's settings (width, height, etc.)
Select the utility item by clicking on it or clicking on the wall segment adjacent to the item (depending on which utility you are selecting).
Click on the floating button on the left-hand side of the window to open the Library.
- Set the correct values.
Note: Settings vary according to the utility element. For Ancillary facilities, the variant's menu allows the users to choose the TYPE of facility, such as bathtub, washbasin, toilet, etc.
- Click on Projects in the top bar, and then Save Project to save the composition.
Delete room utilities
- Select the item.
- Press
Delete.
- Click on Projects in the top bar, and then Save Project to save the composition.
