3CAD Next makes it easy to manage a wide range of electrical outlet configurations through a dedicated gallery. Finding an outlet is simple using filters, a search bar, sort options, and alternative views.
Open the outlet gallery and replace an outlet
The outlet gallery is available in the Settings tab of the Variants panel. Gallery access is available in the 2D workspace only.
Note: Place an electrical outlet in the workspace first. Choosing an outlet from the gallery replaces the current outlet. It is not possible to define the outlet type before placement; place the basic outlet, then edit it in the gallery.
- In the 2D workspace, click the outlet to select it. It turns blue.
- Click the Catalog button.
- Click Variants, then click Settings.
- Click the icon of the current outlet model to open the gallery.
- Select a different outlet in the gallery. The selected outlet replaces the current one.
- Go to Projects and choose Save Project.
Using the electrical outlet gallery
The gallery supports a large set of items and provides search tools to find what you need quickly.
Available tools are:
- Filters — narrow down the available outlets.
- Search bar — search for outlets by name.
- Sort — choose ascending or descending order.
- View selector — choose grid view or list view.
Tips
- Work in the 2D workspace when opening the gallery and making changes.
- Use filters, the search bar, sort, and the view selector to locate items quickly.
- After replacement, switch to 3D to review the result, then return to 2D for further edits.
