In multi‑market and multi‑country environments, using the correct currency is essential to ensure accurate pricing and avoid misunderstandings in commercial workflows.
The 3CAD Next Supervisor allows you to associate each commercial price list with a specific currency. This ensures that prices are configured, managed, and displayed using the appropriate local currency for the target country or market.
This article explains how currency support works in the Supervisor, what benefits it provides, and how currencies are managed and used in commercial price lists.
Key benefits
Managing currencies directly in Supervisor allows you to:
- Configure commercial price lists using the correct local currency for each country or market
- Avoid inconsistencies in price display across markets
- Reduce the risk of errors in commercial, quoting, and billing workflows
- Support multi‑market and multi‑currency pricing scenarios more effectively
Feature description
The Supervisor allows commercial price lists (
commercialPriceList) to be associated with a specific currency. This ensures that prices are managed and displayed using the appropriate currency for the target market. To address gaps in multi‑market support, missing currencies have been added and currency handling has been extended. Supervisor now provides a centralized Currency List that supports the selection of the correct currency when configuring a commercial price list.
This enhancement ensures that all required currencies are available and consistently applied across the system.

Currency availability
Supervisor includes an extended list of currencies to select when configuring a commercial price list. These currencies need to be added to the Currency List associated with each catalog.
Adding a currency to the Currency List
Currencies are added through a dedicated currency registry introduced in the Supervisor. This registry is designed to support the multi‑pricelist system and future commercial needs.
Each currency includes standard information such as:
-
Cod: ISO 4217 alphanumeric code (for example, "EUR" for Euro). This is the primary key and uniquely identifies the currency.
-
Symbol: Currency symbol (for example, "€", "$", "₿").
-
Des: Description (for example, "Euro", "US Dollar", "Bitcoin").
-
IsoCodeNum: 3-digit ISO 4217 numeric code (for example, "978" for Euro). May be null for virtual or custom currencies.
-
DecimalDigits: Number of decimal places used for the currency (for example, 2 for euro and dollar and 8 for bitcoin).
- IsActive: Active or inactive status.
Supervisor users can manage this data so that only relevant and valid currencies are available for commercial price list configuration.
To add a new currency to a catalog's currency list, take the following steps:
- Open the Supervisor and select the catalog to add the currency.
- Under Catalog, open the Currency List.
- Click Create Currency.
- Select a currency from the drop-down and click Save Currency.
The new currency has been successfully added to the Currency List and is now available for selection in the Pricelist's Currency field.
Price list configuration and usage
When a currency is selected for a commercial price list:
- The frontend reads and applies the selected currency correctly
- Prices are displayed using the configured currency in downstream workflows
This ensures consistency between configuration, visualization, and usage of commercial price lists.
Tips for best use
-
Verify currency availability before creating or updating commercial price lists for a new market.
-
Keep currency data up to date, especially when working with multiple markets or regional deployments.
- When creating or updating a commercial price list, make sure the selected currency matches the intended target market.
