3CAD Next allows you to add flooring to a room directly in the planner. You can create a new floor by drawing its perimeter and selecting the required flooring element. This article explains how to insert flooring in both standard and custom rooms.

Insert flooring
To insert flooring in a room, do the following:
- Log in to 3CAD Next and open the workspace.
- Select the 2D view.
- Click the Catalog button on the left-hand side of the window to open the Library.
- Click the Select walls icon between Library and Variants.
- Select the Flooring & Ceiling tab, then choose the element to insert:
- Flooring

Baseboard
-
Draw the floor perimeter:
- Click to set the starting point.
- Drag the cursor and click to define each edge.
- Continue until the full perimeter is complete.
If walls have already been drawn in the planner, wall corners snap to flooring anchors (circles with four arrows) for easier drawing. When finished, press
Esc.
- Click Projects, then Save Project.
Note: Flooring can only be created and edited structurally in 2D view. You can switch to 3D view at any time to preview the result.
