Seller levels are parameters assigned to 3CAD Next users to provide them with specific authorizations related to the order processing flow in 3CAD Next. They function in combination with the User groups to define the user's access rights to 3CAD Next services (see article How do User groups work?).
In each 3CAD Next order flow, 7 Seller levels may be created at maximum, numbered from 0 to 6, where 0 represents the users with the most limited authorization (guest users) and 6 represents users with the widest authorizations within 3CAD Next (administrators). Not all Seller levels need to be used in the same order flow if unnecessary.
Each Seller level assigns a defined set of access rights to users by default. The main ones are listed in the following table:
| Level | Access rights | Commonly attributed roles |
|---|---|---|
| Level 0 | Create and save projects (but not recall them) | Guest |
| Level 1 | Create and save projects + access and recall previously saved projects + access assigned shop(s) | Seller |
| Level 2 | Create and save projects + access and recall previously saved projects + access assigned shop(s) | Seller |
| Level 3 | Create and save projects + access and recall previously saved projects + access assigned shop(s) | Agent or shop admin |
| Level 4 | Create and save projects + access and recall previously saved projects + access assigned shop(s) | Front office |
| Level 5 | Create and save projects + access and recall previously saved projects + access assigned shop(s) + assign projects to same level or lower level users | Back office |
| Level 6 | Create and save projects + access and recall previously saved projects + access all the shop(s) + assign projects to all the users | Administrator |
It is then possible to further refine users' authorizations from the front end. While default users' access rights can be further limited, they cannot be expanded.
Example
The 3CAD Next service called "Project Finder" allows users to view all previously saved projects; it is enabled by default for all users from level 1 to level 6 (only guest users are excluded).
When defining a new order flow, it is decided to adopt 4 Seller levels, namely 1, 2, 3, and 6, and the following limitations are implemented to adjust the 3CAD Next default authorizations set to the specific use case:
-
users with Seller level 1 are authorized to view their projects only,
-
users with Seller level 2 have access to their projects, and all Seller level 1's projects,
-
users with Seller level 3 have access to all the projects of their shop,
-
users with Seller level 6 have access to all the projects of all the shops.
To add a new Seller level, take the following steps:
