The section Limiting Variants of the Supervisor allows you to activate the filters created in the section Group of Variants and Group of Variants (commercial) when specific conditions occur:
- with given items (neuter articles),
- with given combinations of commercial models and neuter articles,
- when other variants take specific values.
Furthermore, it is possible to authorize this restriction only to specific users, shops, countries, user groups, and/or brands.
1. Limiting variants on items (neuter articles)
It consists of filtering a variant only for specific neuter articles.
Example
In a catalog, the variant "Color" has 50 options (blue, red, sepia, ...). For the neuter article "Tables" only, the available options of the variant "Color" are only 10. The 3CAD Next Supervisor can be set so that when this neuter article is selected, only the 10 available colors can be chosen.
2. Limiting variants on models+items
It consists of filtering a variant only when a specific combination of commercial models and neuter articles occurs.
Example
In a catalog, the variant "Material" has 5 options (wood, iron, ...). When the model "202" and the neuter article "Tables" are selected, the available options of the variant "material" are only 3. The 3CAD Next Supervisor can be set so that when these conditions are met, only the 3 available materials can be chosen.
3. Limiting variants on variants
It consists of filtering variants' options when another variant takes a given value.
Example
When the variant "Material" takes the value "Wood", the variant "Color" is filtered and only 10 colors out of 50 can be selected.
When clicking on Limiting Variants in the Supervisor's dashboard, a page opens where the lists of three categories of variant limits can be found:
- list of limits on items (neuter articles)
- list of limits on models+items
- list of limits on variants.
To display the correct list, select the correct category (items, models+items, or variants) by clicking on the circle next to it.
