The Supervisor allows the customization of commercial models through the restriction of variants' visibility. These filters represent a superstructure of the personalization options offered by LayEdit.
These restrictions are created and managed in the Supervisor's sections:
- Group of Variants
- Group of Variants (commercial)
In Group of Variants, it is possible to create technical filters that restrict the visibility of variants. In Group of Variants (commercial) it is possible to create additional filters within the filters created in Group of Variants, to further limit the variants' visibility.
Example
In a catalog, there is a set of 100 types of handles. Since some models of the catalog can be equipped only with knobs, a filter to restrict visibility only to knobs is created in Group of Variants. Part of the models equipped with knobs can only be equipped with metal ones, while others with wood ones. Two additional filters to restrict visibility to metal knobs and wooden knobs are created in Group of Variants (Commercial), building on the knob filter created in Group of Variants.
By doing so, any new handle added to the catalog is automatically assigned only to the models that allow that specific handle based on its charatterstics (wooden knob, metal knob, other handle).
When clicking on Group of Variants or Group of variants (commercial) in the Supervisor's dashboard, the respective list opens. Here all variant restriction filters created in each one of the two sections, for the current environment (dev, test, or prod) are listed.
From each of these windows, it is possible to:
-
Create a new group of variants or Create a new group of variants (commercial),
-
Edit a group of variants or Edit a group of variants (commercial),
-
Delete a group of variants or Delete a group of variants (commercial).
Besides these actions, technical and commercial filters created in these sections can be further restricted, by activating them under specific circumstances:
- with a specific neuter article
- with a specific combination of articles and models
- when a variant has a specific value.
These further restrictions are set in the Supervisor's section Limiting Variants - see article Restrictions on variants (Limiting variants).
