Decorations allow users to enrich the visual quality of their projects without affecting technical or commercial data. They improve the realism of the presentation and provide more flexibility in adapting the design to the customer’s needs. All decorative elements are collected in the Decorations catalog.
The Decorations catalog
The Decorations catalog is a dedicated collection of non-structural elements, such as vases, plants, paintings, and accessories. It provides an intuitive way to enhance projects with decorative elements used for presentation purposes without affecting basket calculation. Items can be inserted in both 2D and 3D views by selecting them from the catalog and placing them directly into the workspace, where they can be repositioned, rotated, or removed like any other object in the scene.
A configuration panel allows users to edit the available variants of each decorative item, while visibility can be managed independently in 2D and 3D, enabling users to show or hide decorations as needed.
How decorations work
The Decorations catalog is accessible directly through a dedicated button in the main interface.
Click the Catalog button.
Click the Decorations button at the top of the mask.
Browse or search the catalog for the desired decorative item.
| Note: The enhanced article library has recently been launched. For more information, please refer to the article Enhanced article library. |
Select the item. It is automatically placed on the 2D or 3D planner.
Use the Variants menu to choose a the object's characteristics (variants) if available.
-
Adjust the position and rotation as needed, using the same methods you use for other objects.
Due to their small dimensions, placing decorative items correctly may require some practice.
Here is a recap of the 3 available positioning systems:
Click and hold on the object while dragging it (drag and drop). This positioning method can be utilized in both 2D and 3D views and permits horizontal movements in both views, and rotation in 2D view only; vertical movements are not supported.
- Select the object and use the directional arrows to translate it along the X, Y, and Z axes, as well as to rotate it. This positioning method is available exclusively in the 3D view and enables object rotation through a dedicated arrow control.
-
Select the object and press the space bar on your keyboard. The Update Position dialog will appear, allowing you to enter precise X, Y, and Z coordinates (in millimeters). The Y axis controls the item's vertical movement, while the X and Z axes define the horizontal movement. This system functions in both 2D and 3D views; however, it may prove to be more effective for horizontal positioning in the 2D view, and for vertical positioning in 3D view.
Note: See article Positioning objects in the planner for detailed guidance.
Toggle visibility if you wish to simplify the design view.
