Components visibility management lets you control how specific groups of components are displayed in 3CAD Next.
Using the Layers tab, you can:
- hide selected components completely, or
- display them in transparent mode
This helps you inspect layouts, understand volumes, and focus on specific aspects of a design in both 3D View and Elevation View (H View).
Key benefits
- Focus on structure
Hide frontals or panels to inspect internal layouts.
- Better spatial understanding
Use transparency to visualize volumes and relationships between components.
- Clearer design validation
Temporarily remove visual clutter without changing the configuration.
- Improved presentations
Switch visibility during reviews or sales discussions to highlight key elements.
Where to find visibility controls
Visibility controls are available in the Layers tab.
Only component groups configured in config.json appear in the list.
Each group can be turned on or off independently.
Each group can be turned on or off independently.
Visibility controls affect graphics only.
They do not change configuration rules, calculations, or the Bill of Materials (BOM).
You can safely use visibility controls without impacting the project logic.
How visibility works
When you toggle a component group off, it behaves according to the config.json configuration:
- Hidden
The component is fully invisible.
- Transparent
The component remains selectable and interactive with reduced opacity.

Component visibility must be enabled through configuration settings. For technical details about it, see: Components visibility management - Config.json configuration

Tips for best use
- Hide worktops to verify the positioning of base units or appliances underneath.
- Hide plinths to inspect floor‑level clearances and leg adjusters.
- Use transparency instead of hiding when you still need visual context.
- Combine visibility controls with different views (3D and H View) for deeper inspection.
Version requirements
Components visibility management is available when the project uses:
- Engine 3D ≥ 16.19.1
- Engine Core ≥ 16.26.0
