3CAD Next allows you to customize flat and sloped ceilings in the planner after they have been created. You can adjust the ceiling shape, define variants, manage beams and skylights, or remove the ceiling entirely.
Important!
- Both standard and custom rooms do not include a ceiling by default. See Add a flat ceiling to a room or Add a sloped ceiling to a room to create one.
- Shape adjustments are available in 2D view; variants can be managed in 2D and 3D.
Adjust the ceiling shape
- Select the ceiling.
- Click an anchor point (circular handle at a corner of the ceiling).
- Drag the anchor to adjust the shape.
- Release the mouse button to apply the change.
- To refine the shape further, click a + icon along the perimeter to add a new anchor point. Each new anchor creates additional + icons for more detailed shaping.
- Click Projects, then Save Project.
Note: If a ceiling has been created in relation to a wall and that wall is moved, the ceiling will automatically follow the wall's movement. If, however, the ceiling’s area and shape are independent of the wall, each element must be adjusted separately.
Set the ceiling variants
All room-building items, including the ceiling, have been enriched with a variety of options in their Variant sections, enabling users to fine-tune their appearance and achieve a more realistic representation.
Ceiling variants encompass all available settings for customizing the ceiling, including its material, color, and height above the floor. They also enable users to add and manage beams and skylights. Flat and sloped ceilings provide specific sets of options based on their respective characteristics.
