All articles can be configured in their attributes in 3CAD Next. This configuration possibility is extended also to walls, wall items, floor, ceiling, and utilities. Attributes are configured through articles' variants and they are specific to each article or item. While some items may have very limited configurable variants (for example, flooring), others may be configured by users in a variety of attributes ranging from color to material, dimensions, etc.
All configurable variants are placed in the Variants menu, accessible by clicking on the Catalog button in the left-hand side of the window. Within this menu, attributes may be organized in sections and folders, depending on their type and number.
Note: Articles' variants can be set both in 2D, 3D and Elevation mode.
In addition, certain objects can be customized by creating one or more internal splits using the Divider component. This component must be enabled and correctly configured within the LayEdit configuration rule to operate properly within the planner. Please refer to the article Using the Divider Component for further information.
To configure articles' variants, do the following:
-
Select the article.
Note: In 2D view, select an article by clicking on it; in 3D view, select an article by enabling the 3D rotation tool, then clicking on the article.
